I'm new to MVC and I just want to build a simple drop-down list where you can select a range of variables from.

On the FurnitureType variable below, I want to make that into a drop-down list of values/variables such as "chair", "desk", "table".

So that in HTML form you can select either one on the drop-down box and it will go into the database. I plan on going further with it that's why I mention variables and not just values, so that if a customer selects a Chair that string will then change the costs and have other options for later when I build more of the project.

public class Furniture
    {
        public int Id { get; set; }

        public string Name { get; set; }

        public string FurnitureType { get; set; }
    }
